Re: text;
Then again, I only have two expressions, and the latter is only an angrier version of the former.
text;
But on a serious note, Riptide mentioned saying how he elected to betray you all because he, personally, hated you. Ring any bells?
Re: text;
Yes, I recall him saying something that profoundly stupid.
text;
Re: text;
He has it in his head that I do not care and that I should not care. Frankly, after what I have been trying to do for him in light of everything that's happened, I am insulted.
text;
Frankly? Riptide knows he's hurt you and I don't know why the hell I am being asked how to get back in your good graces when the two of you need to sit down and talk it out.
Re: text;
Bumblebee, it's...difficult for me at the moment. I've heard some disconcerting news from Ravage and Swerve. I know how the battle turns out...
text;
So tell me what happened, Magnus.
Re: text;
Ravage is ripped in half by Tarn.
text;
Does Megatron know about Ravage?
Re: text;
It was stupid of me. I should have known better. The odds of anyone surviving were astronomically low. In wartime, the fact that we only lost two would have been seen as a damn miracle.
But we're not at war anymore, Bee. We're supposed to be at peace. Rebuilding our lives and our society.
Riptide, as much as I know it's not his fault, is a walking reminder that two people lost their lives to this mutiny.
text;
We're not all at peace, Magnus. The war isn't over for some. Their hatred and anger still burns and won't easily, if ever, die. These people would rather watch everything that we're working towards burn than allow to continue. Unfortunately those that bring about peace must also find the means to protect it.
Someone has to stop the circle of hate, Magnus. If it can't be them, then it has to be us - starting with forgiving and letting go of these walking reminders.
Re: text;
[Those sure were some words he never thought he'd type.]
How can I, when doing so led me to be stranded and left for dead? Led to the deaths of two people who didn't deserve it?
text;
And I don't know the answer to that, Magnus. It's different for every person. Though I would question why it is so hard. Yes, it led to two people dying but you've forgiven Megatron haven't you? What about Ravage? Brainstorm? Didn't they also kill people that didn't deserve it?
...Didn't you? Didn't I?
Re: text;
text;
C'mon. You know this. You KNOW there's really no difference.
Re: text;
We've all done terrible things. But I never killed anyone with malice on my spark. It was duty.
Bee, a conscious decision was made to send us to our deaths, and now two lives are snuffed out. How does one reconcile that?
text;
You're also forgetting that I worked with Prowl for a LONG time. He makes those kinds of choices before breakfast. If reconciling it were EASY, friend, then maybe there wouldn't have been a war to start with.
That's really for you to figure out, not me.
Re: text;
Nevertheless...
No, nevermind. I don't have a reasonable counter argument to that. You're right.
text;
And of course I'm right. Again.
Re: text;

Back on topic, did Riptide go to trial? You can't really keep acting like he's a guilty party if he hasn't, you know. Innocent until proven and whatnot.
Re: text;
No, he has not had a formal trial. Charges can't be brought against him because, for him, they have not happened yet. That's crossing a dangerous line.
I've looked into matters of time dilation in regards to criminal activity. We'd have to prove that Riptide knew the outcome of the mutiny before it happened. We'd have to prove that he had intent, and that he had the means to ensure it would happen.
